Poise

I know that in all certainty, I'll die someday. I don't know when, how and why, but I'll eventually be dead.

But it is in how we live that we get to be remembered. Haha not that this post would have anything to do about remembering me when I'm gone, but it's just that there are those things in life that needs to be given importance, such as... Saving your money - while you're still living, at the very least.

So.. I was just trying to justify my newly handmade envelope wherein my cash savings are to be placed. I did this so I could be more inspired and willing to put my extra money in a safer place than my wallet which I bring every single day. Not only have I effectively saved up for a week, but I am now actually in the process of successfully running away from the temptation of squandering my money once again.

I don't why, but I'm just this fearless human being every time I'm out and I know how my wallet contains more money than my usual allowance. Like, I always resolve into buying MORE food and other unnecessary little stuff.

But now, I seriously am in great need to save up. I honestly think that I could save more money than I thought I could. The only thing that keeps me from saving my money is my very attitude when it comes to cash handling. I have NO poise at all! I read this book once and it said something about "poise" in ladies and that this word means so much more than one's body posture or so. I used to find it weird and I still think it is, that poise is linked to how a lady handles her money. I mean, poise is poise right? People say poise and by this, they pertain to your manner of walking or the way you project your body when standing up or sitting down --- something like stomach in, chest out. But anyways, I'm not going to argue anymore on "poise". Basta after reading that book, I learned that poise is about, like I mentioned earlier, how a lady handles her money. A lady knows how much to spend and is fast and clever in thinking of ways on how to retrieve the amount spent. In other words, she may withdraw a little or just enough for the needs of the moment, but is clever enough to deposit twice as much as the amount of withdrawal. Gets?

Aside from the 'poise' lesson (which is the primary reason why I save), I also have more goals that sustain my interest for my ipon life. I still believe in the saying 'Mabuti nang sobra kesa kulang' =))

So here we go with the slightly-unfinished but ready-to-use envelope I made out of a sketch pad page, and magazine cut-outs

BTW, meet Paula the college beef (right side of the photo) I was telling you about. This was taken back when we were still blockmates, freshmen year. :'( how I miss that place Fruit Magic in Mezza. The Ate who serves there would always and forever remember our names --- and that's a big thing for us! She'd greet us "Hi Ma'am Blesse, Hi Ma'am Paula." Oh well! :'(

Ang corny niya pero that's life. Gotta embrace who you are. Sabay sabay tayong mag-ipon for a better future lol. But more importantly, let's have poise! :) Thanks for reading!
